Jamaican dancehall artist Konshens has embraced his Kenyan given name Otieno in his new song with Boutross Munene.

In the Angela remix featuring Kenyan rapper Boutross, Konshens calls himself 'Otieno' a name which he was given by Kenyans following his relationship and great love for the country.

"Brace pan di wall and fling it up gimmi nuh, Konshens AKA Otieno."

The name was bestowed upon him along with his own Kenyan ‘national Identification card’.

In the identification card made by Kenyan creatives, Konshens was said to be born in Kisumu Kenya.

Last year when he visited the country, Kenyans appreciated and celebrated the Rapper's adoption of the name after a New Years’ Eve concert at the Carnivore Grounds.

"Nuff love Kenya, it’s been real, our bond is stronger than ever. See you in 2/3 years Konshens Otieno. #DANCEHALL."

Otieno, which means ‘born at night’ is mostly used as a surname among the Luo people of Kenya, but is said to be traditionally a boy’s name.
