President William Samoei Ruto has recognised Kenyan Comedians Timothy Kimani popularly known as Njugush and Eddie Butita as most successful content creators.

Speaking today at the Kenya National Drama Festival State Concert at State House, President William Ruto, said being a creative is likely to come with  more financial rewards than being the president of the country.

The president said that Njugush and Butita are earning more money from content creation than he is making as the president of Kenya.

"These two gentlemen are great people. Don’t just see them wearing t-shirts and think that they don’t have money. These two young men are making more money than my salary. don’t despise them, they are serious entrepreneurs. Congratulations for trailblazing, congratulations for being the example to many of our young people, and knowing that the creatives space, youtube space is available for our young people."

The Head of State praised the two for leveraging on YouTube to make money and setting a good example for upcoming artists.

The statement comes in the wake of the proposed 15 percent levy on content creators.
