Kenyan actress, content creator and Tik Tok queen Azziad Nasenya walked out of an interview with Radio Maisha Presenter Mwende Macharia.
According to reports, Prior to the interview, Azziad had asked the presenter not to ask her any questions about Talanta Hela initiative.
Early this month, Sports CS Ababu Namwamba disbanded the Talanta Hela Council and technical committees consequently revoking the appointment of Carol Radull, Churchill Ndambuki, Azziad Nasenya, Dennis Itumbi, Wahu Kagwi, Akothee among others.
This however didn't go as promised and Mwende Macharia asked her about her alleged firing from Talanta Hela Council.
The interview began with Mwende asking Azziad about her recent success on social media. Azziad was happy to discuss her work and her plans for the future. However, the interview took an unexpected turn when Mwende broached the topic of her alleged firing from Talanta Hela Council.
Azziad was visibly upset by the question and immediately expressed her displeasure. She said that she had not agreed to discuss this topic and that she felt blindsided by Mwende’s line of questioning. She then marched out of the studios, stating that she would not continue the interview.
The incident, captured on a TikTok live stream from the radio station, sparked a heated debate about the boundaries of journalistic inquiry and personal privacy.
After Azziad walked out, Mwende Macharia argued that asking about the controversial firing was crucial for the interview to make sense and provide relevant information to the audience. She also said that she had been given permission to ask about the topic by Azziad’s manager.
According to Mwende, Azziad had responded with a “no comment,” which she thought was a reasonable response, and she saw no reason for her to leave.
"That is her own problem. Ana utoto... she has said no comment. We had finished the questions. Actually we agreed... does she want us to make her trend? You see I am a journalist if I was not going to ask that question that interview would be meaningless."
Azziad could be seen heading to one of the elevators noting that she was pissed and done with the interviewer. "Nimemcancel we are so done..." she said.
