Kenyan journalist Willis Raburu has quit Royal Media Services (RMS) after 13 years of practice. Willis handed his resignation letter earlier this month and the company has agreed to let him leave.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Willis explains how grateful he is to his employer for 13 years.
He feels that his job at RMS has enabled him to grow in diverse ways since he was not put in a box.
"I am grateful to the opportunity to come out and do what I love. I have learnt a lot and I have experience a lot. This has allowed me to grow in my mind and appreciation of people", he says.
The 36 year old journalist joined RMS as an intern in 2010. Since then, he has grown to be one of the biggest journalist in the country. Apart from being a news anchor, Willis has been the host for the 10 over 10 show that airs on Citizen TV and also a radio host at hot 96.
Willis has summarized his 13 year journey in a book called 'Undefined'. He has also informed his fans that he will be doing a lot of content on social media now that he has quit mainstream media. We wish him all the best.
