Kenyan gospel musician Betty Bayo has shared details of her previous relationship noting that she was never married to controversial pastor Victor Kanyari.
Speaking during the taping of gospel reality show, "oh sister," Betty said she is not a divorcee as she was never married before.
"I am not a divorcee,I was never married twice. I am married, I have a handsome man, but the only thing you can relate with me is the ex. I believe even in your house, what you don’t use, you put it in the trash. The only people who go back to the trash are mad people."
The 11th hour hitmaker's clarification comes after years of speculation about her marital status. Many people had assumed that she was married to Kanyari, as they had three children together. However, Bayo has now said that she never considered their relationship to be a marriage.
During the reality show, the artist disclosed that she never took time to check on her alleged ‘husband’, Victor Kanyari, before settling down with him.
"The mistake I made was to get into a marriage without really knowing my partner. I didn’t take my time to research on the background. I didn’t consider things like character, personality. We differed in a lot of things. Every topic was an argument."
A while back, Betty Bayo and her current husband held a lovely traditional wedding and are about to have a white wedding.
