Kenyan content creator and comedian Ronoh Chebet has opened up on her struggles with alcohol and her journey to sobriety. 

Sharing on Instagram, Ronoh said that she has been sober for 19 days and is aiming to reach 90 days of sobriety. She said that she has been struggling with mental health and alcoholism for a long time, and that alcohol has put her in rehab twice and the hospital.

" I have made the choice to be sober for 90 days and right now am 19 days sober. I hope I will manage to maintain this for years."

Ronoh said she has experienced long term and short term effects of alcohol and at some point she had to be hospitalised to help her function. She also added that alcohol has interfered with her relationships as well as the functioning of her body organs.

Ronoh has launched a series, 'Recovering from addiction,' on social media which is aimed at helping people who are struggling to stay sober.

The content creator said the series has been influenced by her own experiences and seeing what other young people are going through due to alcohol addiction. She shared that she has done research and is willing to address the issue so that people can stop Normalizing drinking and alcoholism.

She added that the decision to be sober is a personal one, and that she is doing it for herself so that she can live a better life.
