Kenyan Gymnast Wendy Waeni, has shared on why she relocated to China and how life is fairing on since relocating to a different continent.
On Twitter, Wendy revealed that she had to move to China because of her love for gymnastics. She has been in Beijing for a few months and she seems to be having a good time according to her posts on social media.
"Imagine leaving your country and traveling over 7000 km because of love…Love made me say goodbye to everything, and everyone in Kenya. I found love in Beijing, China. I decided to relocate from Kenya to a new country at the age of 17yrs old, all alone."
Wendy Waeni is one of Kenya's most talented and celebrated teen star. At an early age, she made tremendous achievements in gymnastics and acrobatics.
At 13 years old, Wendy was appointed UNICEF ambassador, a girl born to a single mum and one who represented Kenya in International events worldwide.
She has sat with prominent figures including Rwanda President Paul Kagame and Kenya’s own, President Uhuru Kenyatta, just to mention a few. For her, gymnastics was something she started at the tender age of 4, while living in a single room in Huruma estate with her mom, who would sell sweets and cigarettes for a living.
