Governor Johnson Sakaja has announced plans to build a nightclub inside Uhuru park.

During the official handover of Uhuru park, after more than two years of renovation by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF),  Sakaja noted that he plans to make the park a brewing social and economic hub that will accommodate the Kenyan culture and generate more revenue for the county.

Governor Sakaja said that the county will advertise for tenders to set up night clubs in the park, which will benefit adults who want to stay in the park until midnight.

He also announced that revellers are free to party till dawn once the nightclub is constructed and that there will be no noise restrictions.

The Nairobi governor also announced plans to have amenities such as restaurants which will be constructed under the public-private partnerships (PPPs), he also revealed that the county government will construct a dancing fountain worth Ksh156 million.

Part of the equipment the county is expected to introduce in Uhuru Park and Central Park will include gym equipment that will give visitors a chance to work out.

The governor also urged citizens to adhere to the park rules and asked encroachers to vacate the premises before the county takes action.
