Kenyan artist Juliani is in disbelief following the demolition of hisDandora Hip Hop Centre.

The two storey building has been demolished in the ongoing operation to reclaim riparian land in Nairobi county.

Juliani shared the devastating news on social media adding that he was in the process of expanding to the neighbouring spaces and upgrading the centre.

"Gotten word that our community centre DandoraHHC is being demolished. The whole 2 storey building. Yes, it’s close to a river. We purchased the building more than 7 years ago. đź’”This is not the end but inauma đź’”Sana!! To think that we were working on expanding to the neighbouring spaces and upgrading the facility."

The centre was a hub for the youth and women to showcase and grow their talents.

Speaking in a past interview, Juliani said Dandora HipHop City was the brainchild of his strong will to empower and unit young people as demonstrated in one of his songs, 'Kutabadilishwa na nani Kama si sisi'

The government has been on a spree to reclaim riparian land and move people away from rivers, especially after the recent floods.

The demolitions have however been met with mixed reactions from Kenyans.
