A friend has revealed that the man from Kericho who survived the Londiani crash is a church leader and serves as a patron for a school Christian Union.

In a post on social media, Dennis Onam shared that the survivor identified as Daniel Osieko is a teacher and a church leader.

"Wherever an accident happens, PRAY. I see the man who survived the Muhoroni - Londiani accident and can't believe he is a man I have hosted in my house twice as a Speaker in our Church and once as a guest. Twice he even visited with his wife. A number of times he has also preached to our students. A fellow Teacher of Biology and a fellow Anglican Layreader. Our relationship started when we were BOG teachers ( Now BOM) , him at Sinyolo Girls and myself at Huma Girls when we used to do a joint exam called COHOST ( Chulaimbo, Ojola, Huma, Sinyolo, Obambo,Tieng're)," said Dennis on Facebook.

He added that the accident has taught him alot seeing that Osieko was in the front seat and he survived the crash when even the driver didn't.

"I watch the video and repent of my sins. I see The love of God when my friend survives in the front seat when even the driver didn't survive. Mr. Daniel Osieko has been the Christian Union Patron and Guidance and Counseling Master at Nyagoko school for years. May God grant him full healing. THIS IS GOD! I will serve The God of Osieko," he wrote.

At least 10 people lost their lives on Tuesday afternoon and three others sustained critical injuries following a grisly accident involving a matatu and trailer at Pangala in Kisumu Ndogo area on the Londiani-Muhoroni Road.

Eyewitness reports indicate that the driver of the trailer, en route to Londiani, lost control of the vehicle, which veered of its lane and collided head-on with the oncoming matatu, which was heading to Kisumu.

9 of the matatu’s occupants including the driver died on the spot, while another succumbed while receiving treatment.
