Brazilian influencer Suellen Carey shocked many in 2023 when she took the unique step of marrying herself.
Now, a year after her wedding in London, she has chosen to end that self-marriage.
Although she enjoyed her solo journey, she grew weary of being alone.
“I learned that while self-discovery is important, knowing when to close a chapter is crucial too. It was a valuable experience, but I feel ready to move forward,” she explained.
After a year of this self-relationship, she admitted it became exhausting.
“The hardest part was the pressure to be perfect for myself all the time. I realized I demand too much from myself, which can be draining. I learned that even in a marriage with ourselves, we need to embrace our flaws,” she revealed.
In a recent interview, She said that she had very high expectations from herself, which she couldn't meet and so she felt quite exhausted in her relationship.
She also shared that she felt lonely on many occasions, which made her decide that she needed a real partner in life.
Before deciding to divorce herself, Suellen had attended 10 therapy sessions to understand the challenges she was facing in her sologamy.
She tried to understand her feelings and work on solving her issues. But she ultimately realised that she needed to end her marriage with herself, as it would help her heal and move on in life.
