Patrick Xavier Clark has been arrested and charged  with the murder of Takeoff.

The arrest has been made possible by the help of a surveillance footage from the night of the shooting.

Patrick Xavier Clark was in the scene of the crime and had a weapon in his hand.

He then applied for an expedited passport right after Takeoff's murder by submitting an itinerary for a flight to Mexico. When he was arrested, prosecutors say he had received the passport and had a large sum of cash on him.

The 28-year-old, Grammy-nominated musician was shot and killed outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas last month.

Houston police said the shooting was over a game of dice, but the singer was "an innocent bystander". Another man and a woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the shooting.

Prosecutors are asking for Clark's bail to be set at $1,000,000. According to the documents, prosecutors are also asking the judge to place Clark under house arrest if he gets out on bail.
