Mumias East MP Peter Salasya is grateful after surviving drowning in a swimming pool in South Sudan.
The youthful Member of parliament had accompanied his colleagues to the 12th edition of the East Africa Community Inter –Parliamentary Games in South Sudan.
At some point, it became too hot and he decided to take a dip in the swimming pool although he doesn't know how to swim.
He was advised against going to the deep end however he refused to listen. In a flash, he was gulping lots of water and drowning.
Luckily some Ugandan and Kenyan ladies saw him and rescued him.
Sharing on his social media, the MP said he has learnt his lesson and will never swim again.
"I was almost dead in the swimming pool, but I was rescued. Wacha yesu aitwe yesu. I will never go back to a swimming pool. If you don't know how to swim like me, please don’t try,” He said.
Peter Salasya also shared photos of the clergy praying for him after his safe return to Kenya.
