The royal media services has confirmed that one staff has passed on after a case of food Poisoning at the company's headquarters in Nairobi.
In a statement, RMS Managing Director Wachira Waruru indicated the media house contracted a private food catering company to provide meals for staff working during the Christmas shift. The staff consumed food from a buffet provided by the caterers.
On 26th December ( Boxing Day) several staff started complaining of severe stomachache after consuming the meals served in the premises.
The media house which owns several vernacular radio stations, Citizen TV, Inooro TV and Radio Citizen said they are shocked and saddened by the incident.
"We are deeply shocked and saddened to inform the public that one staff member has unfortunately succumbed to the illness attributed to the suspected food poisoning. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of our deceased staff member during this difficult time."
Several staff have also been hospitalised while investigations are ongoing.
