Gospel artists and Friends of the late gospel singer Ilagosa Wa Ilagosa are fundraising inorder to build a house for him in the village.
According to Luhya traditions, Ilagosa Wa Ilagosa will sleep in the house waiting for burial after the body is moved from the morgue. The burial is set for 16th February 2023.
Two WhatsApp groups have been created to help in fundraising, they both have over 1500 people. Close sources have revealed that estimated budget for Ilagosa’s funeral service is about Sh1.5M. So far, they have contributed Ksh 300,000 towards the project.
The 'sala zangu' hit maker died on Friday while receiving treatment at a hospital in Langata.
The cause of death has not been revealed however a video of him claiming someone was planning to end his life has gone viral.
In the video Illagosa claims that someone in the industry tried to poison him to stop him from preaching the gospel.
"They are trying to stop me from preaching God’s word, a well-known adult tried to poison me, I stand on the church altar, my friend, you cannot destroy me. God is with me, He is number one and I will continue preaching about Jesus. I am a seed and I will not die."
Ilagosa was also a pastor and founder of prophetic international ministry. His other songs include: Amba, Camera ya Yesu and Sema nami.
He has left behind one child since he separated with his wife a while back.
