Nakuru police are investigating the death of a 22-year-old college student who allegedly passed away after being ejected from a moving vehicle.
Eileen Cherotich, a business student at the Rift Valley Institute of Science Technology, reportedly died while on her way home from a night out in Nakuru town.
Her body was recovered along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway on Sunday morning.
It is reported that she had a dispute with her boyfriend during the journey, which resulted in the tragic incident.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Cherotich succumbed to injuries sustained after a fall from the vehicle, which was being driven at a high speed.
“It is said that Cherotich argued with her alleged lover, who is a businessman. It is unclear how she found herself outside the vehicle. Whether she was thrown out or jumped off, it is a matter still under investigation, said Nakuru West DCIO Charles Kamau.
Three suspects and a vehicle believed to be involved have been apprehended at the Nakuru West police station.
The deceased’s body has been transferred to the Nakuru County Referral Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination as the investigation progresses.
Condolences to the family and may her soul rest in peace.
