Ezekiel Mutua Wants Luo Ohangla Musician Otieno Aloka Arrested For His New Vulgar Song

Published

on

Kanungo hitmaker  Otieno Aloka has caused a hullabaloo on social media after a video clip of his recent performance on Facebook live went viral.

Otieno Olaka uses vulgar lyrics that disrespect women throughout the 5 minutes video clip, something his fan and  Kisumu county woman Rep Rosa Buyu failed to take lightly.

The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) boss Ezekiel Mutua, has also come out to condemn the performance.

Through his Twitter handle, the KFCB boss asked Kenyans to protest for the song to be pulled down by YouTube

“The Board is inundated with complaints about an obscene Ohangla video that’s promoting paedophilia and degradation of women. We have alerted the DCI to arrest the singer and the producer. Thank you Hon. Rosa Buyu for bringing this to our attention. We are working with Google to have the video brought down and will ensure that the artist faces the full force of the law for violating the provisions of the Films and Stage Plays Act Cap 222 in respect to content creation regulations.

The producer had not obtained a filming license either has the video been approved by the Board for public exhibition/consumption and age appropriateness. We shall deal with this kind of content creation violations and ensure that art is not used to destroy our culture and morality and that children are not prematurely exposed to adult content.

I urge those in possession of the video not to glorify or give it prominence and credence by sharing. I also urge our artistes to desist from using new technologies to break the law by producing and posting content that has not been approved by the Board for public consumption. Owing to COVID-19 and the e-learning program due to closure of schools, most children have access to gadgets and we need to protect them from exposure to harmful content by ensuring that content meant for adults is not circulating online.

KFCB is collaborating with the Communications Authority of Kenya, DCI and Google to promote child online safety. We are grateful to the public and especially national leaders like Hon. Rosa Buyu who has brought the dirty video to our attention and gone public in condemning it.

Content does not have to be dirty to sell and our artistes must know that such dirty content will also be consumed by their children. Let’s all be responsible and use creativity to promote our culture and values.”

Otieno Aloka Apologizes

Otieno Aloka has issued an apology saying that the song he performed was a request from a German-based client. According to the musician, he never knew the song would reach masses and attract debate on social media, pleading for forgiveness from women and friends.

“My people first and foremost I am asking for forgiveness. I am sincerely sorry, especially to our women, the song was a request from my German client. I didn’t know it would reach masses and cause mayhem. I am really sorry, kindly forgive me,”
