Content creator Muthoni Gitau recently opened up on her rape ordeal years back.
Speaking on Engage Talks, the content creator said she was at her friend's place when she underwent the horrifying ordeal.
"I didn't want to go home because my sister had already told me my dad was back and I knew going back to the house means having to start explaining where you're coming from and I was not about to having any of that because I was like I'm an independent woman and all," she said.
"So I called another friend and I was like, 'can I bank at your place' so my friend was like, 'sure you can come through'... My friend was roommates with another mutual friend who I had not really gotten to know much but I knew him," added Gitau.
Gitau noted that all was well until that evening when the roommate started sending her suggestive text messages.
"That Saturday we chilled, watched movies, talked till evening came and I started receiving suggestive text messages from the roommate. He started texting, 'you better prepare yourself', I didn't think much of it until my friend told me, 'soandso is coming with his friends so today you can't sleep on the couch so we will share my bed' and I was okay," she recalled.
Later that night, the roommate showed up drunk moments before he raped her.
She said;
"At around 11pm this friend came with his other friends and then randomly my friend decides to leave the room, he didn't tell me why, he just left and the next thing I know is the roommate was in the room and he locked the door
"So he was like, 'are you ready'. I was confused because I had not given any implication that anything was going to happen between us. So I was like, 'okay you're drunk, can we please talk in the morning' but he proceeded and rapped me."
