Gospel singer Ruth Matete's father, Abel Amunga, has disclosed his relationship with the late singer Angela Chibalonza.
Speaking recently, the actor revealed he met the Toka Chini hitmaker when she was in the country to look for her idol, veteran gospel artiste Mary Atieno.
Amunga said Chibalonza was a very down to earth person, and he worked with her until her death.
"I worked with the late Chibalonza. She was really humble and the reason why she started working with me is because she realised I was working with Mary Atieno. She came to Kenya specifically to look for Mary who was her idol," he narrated.
The father of one then asked her to sing when she explained to him that she hoped to record songs one day.
According to Abel, all the songs she sang were Mary's loved songs, and he then let out the secret that he was training the Nimejazwa Na Roho singer.
"I told her, 'do you know I am the one training Mary?' and that's how we became tight friends. I was her music confidant and I was part of every song she recorded. I looked for her background singers and producers for her until she passed away," he explained.
