Former motherinlaw actress Idah Alisha known by her stage name olive has opened up about her marriage and why she left her abusive exhusband.

Speaking on an interview with Lynn Ngugi, the actress narrated how she met him in church and tied the knot after one year of dating.

"There is pressure in church for people to get married, he was 28 and I was 21, I knew him for a year before we got married but started noticing red flags immediately women were calling him at night and he would say they were not over him".

The actress added that growing up in an abusive family contributes to either one becoming a victim or an abuser.

When I look back I think we had trauma bonding. His dad was very abusive and so was my dad. At the time I did not know much about trauma bonding. When you are raised in an abusive relationship you either become the abuser or the victim."

Idah thanked her mother for walking out of her abusive relationship saying she gave her the strength to walk out when things became intolerable as her exhusband abused her physically and emotionally. She advised ladies to be careful saying a man who beats you up doesn't love you.
