Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika has offered the mother of the two children who ate Chameleons due to hunger, a job as an environment officer in Sirikwa ward Kuresoi North.

The governor has also promised pay her 3 months’ rent before her monthly rent starts to flow well, as well as a directive to ensure all of her children are enrolled back to school.

Chemng'etich came to the limelight last week after her two children were admitted to Molo Sub-county Hospital after consuming chameleons.

The mother of nine returned home and found her 4 and 2-year-old children unconscious, and an elder one admitted to having cooked chameleons for them.

Kenyans who were touched by the story have been sending her help including money, food stuff, household items and other donations.

The two children have already been discharged from the hospital and are recuperating at home.
