China Square, the one stop shop located in Unicity Mall Thika Road has announced it's temporary closure days after an outburst by the Trade CS Moses Kuria.

China Square announced it will close on Sunday 26th February to evaluate it's strategy following claims that it has driven Kenyan traders out of business.

The company, China Square Limited is considering the possibility of collaborating with local traders to enhance better services and better integration with the local community.

Sharing on Twitter,  CS Moses Kuria noted that Chinese investors should not trade in Kenya.

"I have today given an offer to Prof Wainaina the VC Kenyatta University to buy out the lease for China Square, Unicity Mall and hand it over to the Gikomba, Nyamakima, Muthurwa  and Eastleigh Traders Association. We welcome Chinese investors to Kenya but as manufacturers, not traders.”

China Square's decision to close temporarily is a bold move aimed at meeting the desired needs of the customer.

They apologized for any inconveniences caused to customers and promised to open on 27th February with better experience than before.
