The interior CS Kithure Kindiki has ordered Director of Criminal Investigations to investigate the death of Jeff Mwathi which happened in Popular Kikuyu musician DJ Fatxo's apartment.

Sharing on social media, CS Kithure Kindiki said he has directed the DCI to send a homicide team to thoroughly investigate the incident and take necessary actions.


According to the CS, the DCI team is dispassionate and the move will help resolve the claims of collusion at Kasarani police station.

The DCI also shared a statement on social media assuring the public and Jeff's family that no stone will be left unturned till justice is served.

"HOMICIDE SLEUTHS TAKE OVER JEFF MWATHI’S CASE. Detectives from the Homicide department based at DCI Headquarters, have this morning taken over investigations into the death of 23-year-old Jeff Mwathi, from Kasarani police station. This follows a directive by the Director of Criminal Investigations Mr Mohamed Amin, for the expeditious investigation into the death of the young man. "

The DCI promised that all those found to have been involved in the death shall face the law and also appealed for members of public to volunteer any information that might be helpful in the case.

"The public is assured that no stone shall be left unturned in the investigation of this case and any person found to have been involved in the death shall face the full force of the law. Meanwhile, anyone with information that may assist us in this case is asked to volunteer it to the head of Homicide at DCI headquarters or call our toll free #FichuakwaDCI number 0800 722 203."

Jeff Mwathi 23,was contacted by DJ Fatxo for some interior decoration work in his shop. Jeff and DJ Fatxo spent the entire day together and later they went drinking in four different clubs. They later went home to DJ Fatxo's apartment.

According to a CCTV footage, his body was seen flying from the 10th floor of the singer's apartment. A statement provided by the DJ said Jeff committed suicide but his family insists that he was in good spirits and never suicidal.
