Citizen TV news anchor Waihiga Mwaura has quit royal media services after 14 years at the station.
The journalist shared that his time at the station has come to an end and he is now headed to BBC Africa, adding that he will also host his last show today.
"After 14 amazing years at Royal Media Services (Citizen TV), my time here has ended. My next stop is BBC News (BBCAfrica) specifically Focus on Africa. I'll share more details soon, but in the meantime, see you on my last episode of #Newsnight at 9:00 pm on Citizen TV."
Focus on Africa is one of the BBC's flagship programs, providing comprehensive coverage of news and current affairs on the continent.
At the time of his exit, Waihiga was the Multimedia managing editor at Citizen TV. He started out as a Sports reporter and anchor, before he transition into regular news anchoring.
He was later on appointed the Special projects editor before transitioning to head the multimedia desk.
Waihiga Mwaura has hosted several high-profile shows during his time there, and won several awards including the coveted Komla Dumor award, CNN African Journalist of the Year award, Sport Award, and the Mohammed Amin Africa award.
