Prime Suspect In The Kware, Mukuru Kwa Njenga Slums Killings was Arrested In Kayole

The suspect, 33-year-old Collins Jomaisi Khalisia, confessed to killing 42 women between 2022 and July 11, 2024, when he murdered his last victim.

He said his first victim was his wife, whom he strangled to death and dismembered before dumping her remains in the dumpsite.

He was arrested in Kayole after officers from the DCI and the National Police Service conducted a joint operation.

His arrest followed thorough forensic analysis of a mobile phone belonging to one of the victims identified as Josephine Owino where some mobile money transactions were made when she went missing

Upon searching his house, several crucial items were recovered, including 24 Airtel SIM card holders, 8 smartphones, 1 laptop, 1 hard drive, 2 flash drives, 1 machete, 12 nylon sacks, 1 pair of industrial rubber gloves, and 6 ID cards for men and 2 for women.

The gory images of dismembered bodies, most of them women, killed and dumped in an open ditch in the sprawling slums pointed to a well-planned execution of people whose families are still dumbfounded.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed all the bodies retrieved on Friday were female, and were severely mutilated in different stages of decomposition.

As of Monday morning, a total of 9 bodies have been recovered from the dumpsite awaiting postmortem set to commence today at the Nairobi Funeral Home, formerly City Mortuary.

Police are now calling on families with missing relatives to report to the DCI or the nearest police station.
