Omar Lali is set to face charges for the murder of Tecra Muigai, the heiress of Keroche.

On November 18, 2024, Senior Principal Magistrate Zainab Abdul determined that Lali was criminally liable for her death.

Tecra, who was 29 years old, was the daughter of Joseph Karanja, the Chairman of Keroche Breweries, and Tabitha Karanja, the CEO.

Initially, Lali claimed that Tecra fell down the stairs, later altering his statement to suggest she tripped in the bathroom. Following the incident, Tecra was transported to Nairobi for medical treatment but unfortunately passed away.

At the time of her death, she held the position of Strategy and Innovation Director at Keroche Breweries.

An autopsy conducted by Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor revealed that Tecra died from trauma to the left side of her face due to the fall.

In March 2021, Lali was summoned in court by Magistrate Abdul after new details emerged that Lali had coerced Muigai to transact Ksh1 million into his account, a detail that had been unearthed by her mother, the now Nakuru senator Tabitha Karanja.
