Diamond Platnumz's Manager Sallam SK has addressed the chaos that erupted last night at the Furaha city festival.
What was meant to be a night of music, fun, and good vibes at the Furaha Fest turned into chaos after a dramatic showdown between Kenyan artist Willy Paul and Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platinumz.
Earlier on, Willy Paul expressed his frustrations claiming that he was mistreated at the Furaha City Festival concert which took place last night.
Willy Paul took to his Instagram account to weigh in on the events of the night, lamenting that Kenyan artistes were mistreated, with their Bongo counterparts given priority.
"Tanzanian artists being given priority at this event. This is sad. Mbona Wakenya wanadharauliwa mbele ya wabongo?"
He added that Kenyan stars were largely ignored and their slots taken by by Tanzanian artistes in a last-minute change of the performing protocol that saw the crowd assert that Kenyan artistes too needed their time on the stage.
Some fans who attended the event claimed that Willy Paul was prevented from getting on stage to perform and instead Zuchu was invited.
This sparked a disagreement with Diamond’s manager allegedly refusing to let him perform after Willy Paul with Diamond storming out of the event.
Following the allegations, Diamond's manager has spoken giving some insight on why the Tanzanian artist did not perform at the concert.
He revealed that the reason why Diamond Platnumz did not perform, is between him and the event organizers and has nothing to do with another artist.
He claimed that Willy Paul had an altercation with Zuchu. He advised artists against bad publicity.
"Nadhani ifike mahali wasanii muwekeze bidii kwenye kazi, kufeki story sababu ya fame ya kulazimisha bifu ili kutrend haisaidii, Msanii aitwae Willy aseme ukweli alikuwa anabishana na mtoto wa kike ( Zuchu ) aliblock njia Zuchu asipande kwenye steji akisema alikuwepo tokea mwanzo hivyo anataka apande yeye, ilhali wakati zamu yake aliitwa apande kwenye stage aligoma na kusema hawezi kupanda yeye ni Headliner anataka Afunge show Mwisho, baada ya kuona wenzake wanapata shangwe akawa anforce kupanda kwenye Muda wa Zuchu na wala sio Diamond. Regarding why Diamond hajapanda is between us and organizer has nothing to do na msanii yoyote. Bless Up 🙏🏽," he wrote.
According to one of the organizers Willis Raburu, they made every effort to accommodate Diamond and his team, but his team’s behaviour and demands were unnecessarily overbearing.
