Bonfire adventures co-founder Sarah Mtalii has opened up on her marriage with Simon Kabu revealing that there were many cases of gender based violence.
While addressing the media outside the home which she referred to as ‘Misri’, Sarah gave a glimpse of her struggles in marriage, revealing that the domestic violence incidences were too many.
“I have been trying to complain through statements with the police but it has been very difficult. I even stopped reporting because domestic violence incidents because they were too many. I had so many incidences of domestic violence. Some of these scars are of domestic violence, nguo yote inajaa damu."
The businesswoman said there were times she thought of relocating to another country since she felt that she wouldn't get justice since her man was well connected.
She added that they have been having challenges in private although on media, they appeared to be the happiest couple.
“I think that is what narcissist do. We had difficult times in this place. Life threatening times. The society needs to know that people don’t have to go through life threatening situations so that they stay married."
She revealed that she made the decision to leave her matrimonial home on June 1, and on 9th June she settled in her new house.
Sarah went ahead to thank the DCI after they responded swiftly to her domestic violence case.
According to reports on social media, a team of detectives raided her former matrimonial home in such of evidence that will help in the case.
