Diamond Platnumz has disclosed that he received Ksh 20 million to perform in Kenya at the Furaha city festival.

This came as he addressed claims that he prevented Willy Paul from taking the stage at the Furaha Festival.

The Tanzanian artist said he waited backstage for  hours ready to perform but the chaos at the event led to the cancellation.

He shared that he arrived on time and he had already been paid but the organisers didn't solve the chaos backstage and his team felt he wasn't safe to perform.

Diamond Platnumz said he knew the date and time he was scheduled to perform but he couldn't force himself on stage. Amid the chaos, Diamond Platnumz did not perform as scheduled.

He shared that he had another engagement after the Furaha city festival and once his scheduled time was over, he had to leave.

A video circulating online shows the crowd chanting Willy Paul's name, effectively halting Diamond’s attempt to take the stage.

The disagreement reportedly stemmed from changes in the performance order. Diamond, who was expected to close the show, reportedly wanted to perform earlier

The festival organizers revealed that extensive efforts were made to accommodate Diamond and his team, ensuring a seamless experience for all involved.

However, they described the team’s demands and behavior as overbearing and unnecessary

While acknowledging a minor security issue involving Willy Paul, The festival organizers assured fans that it was swiftly resolved to maintain safety and professionalism.

They expressed a commitment to learning from the experience and ensuring even greater success for future editions of the Furaha City Festival.
