Kenyan rapper Kennedy Ombima, popularly known by his stage names King Kaka and his wife Nana Owiti have announced breakup after being together for 13 years.

In a joint statement, the duo said they are arrived the decision to finally part ways after much consideration.

"We honestly never thought we would one day write a statement like this but life happens. After much reflection and consideration we have made the difficult decision to end our relationship. Over the course of 13 years, we have shared countless memories, built a life together and most importantly raised three incredible children who will always be our top priority," read the statement.

They noted that their focus will now be on co-parenting their children with love, stability and respect. They also requested for privacy as they navigate through the separation.


“This decision was not made lightly and we remain deeply committed to maintaining a respectful and supportive relationship as we move forward separately. As public figures, we recognize that our personal lives may attract attention but we kindly ask for privacy and understanding during this time as we navigate this transition as a family."

The rumours of their separation started in May when it was observed that Nana Owiti, an avid Arsenal fan, was spending quality time in the UK, enjoying the vibrant soccer culture and constantly sharing photos of her soccer encounters in London.

Many took online to claim that Owiti had run away from her matrimonial home.
