Mike Sonko has criticized Oga Obinna and Kimani Mbugua’s father for talking about Kimani’s situation after he relapsed just a month after leaving rehab, which Mike Sonko helped arrange.
Sonko pointed out that Kimani’s father needs to understand that his son is still recovering and deserves careful support. If not, Kimani might feel rejected and abandoned, which could lead to harmful choices.
Furthermore, Sonko stated that Talking about Kimani on Obinna’s live show was not needed. He encouraged Obinna to use his platform more responsibly,”
Mike Sonko said he will do his best to ensure that the journalist is okay and back on his feet.
"Discussing Kimani Mbugua on Obina's live show was unnecessary, and I urge my good friend Obina to use his platform with greater responsibility. Additionally, I will take it upon myself to ensure that Kimani returns to the rehabilitation center for continued medical care. During the interview, Kimani Mbugua's dad revealed that weeks after Kimani was discharged from rehab, he started abusing drugs.
The heartbroken dad also shared that Kimani sent him threatening messages not to call him or touch his property.
"Nilionyeshwa alikuwa amefunga noti ya Ksh 500 na kitu cha sigara na hapo nikaona kimelipuka tena. Sigara zingine alikuwa amevuta." Heartbroken dad explained as he apologised to Kenyans over Kimani's betrayal after their financial support.
The dad said that his wish is for Kimani to go back to Rehab since he is not doing well.
"Ninaomba tu arudi huko. He's not okay."
