This activity will start at 12 noon and conclude on Sunday.

Her goal is not only to set a record but also to raise awareness about the profound connection between climate change and mental health.

According to Muthoni,Tree hugging, an ancient practice, offers a powerful antidote to these negative effects.

"By embracing a tree, we tap into its grounding energy and ancient wisdom. The act of hugging a tree has been shown to reduce stress, improve mood, and enhance feelings of connection and belonging. It also inspires a sense of reverence and gratitude for nature, fostering a desire to protect the environment."

Truphena's marathon is a testament to the transformative power of tree hugging and its ability to empower individuals in the face of climate change. By witnessing and supporting her, we are not only cheering her on but also committing to a healthier planet and a more resilient future.

The current record is 24 hours and 21 minutes, held by journalist Abdul Hakim from Ghana.

Abdul attempted this record to highlight the importance of nature conservation.

The rule is that both arms must wrap around the tree’s trunk, closing the embrace.

One must not inflict any harm to the tree, or the entire attempt would be disqualified.

All the best Truphena Muthoni.
