Churchill Show Comedian Nasra Yusuf has confirmed breakup with her husband fellow comedian Director Rashid.
Nasra confirmed the news in a long post on Instagram. She shared that her five year marriage has not been easy and they have been dealing with similar issues for a long time.
The comedian added that her marriage cost her a career, friends, family and even criticism from her community.
“So yes I am single…Anyone that knows me, knows that I fought for that relationship. I lost touch with family because of it, I lost myself and my career because of it, I lost friends because of it, and I got constant criticism from my community because of it but I was still willing to make it work even though the roots of our problems were the same year in year out for 5 years.”
Nasra added that it has taken her time to admit that her marriage is over. She recalled crying herself to sleep, being in denial and regrets over her failed marriage.
“Moving on hasn’t been easy on me, I had very extremely low moments, I cried myself to sleep, I broke down several times in front of friends and strangers, I was in denial, and I had so much regret, but I finally accepted that it was time to close that chapter."
In conclusion she wished her ex-husband Director Rashid the best in life. She admitted he is a good man who deserves happiness and a better partner.
Last year, the couple had announced their breakup. They then informed their fans that they had worked on their issues and were back together.
The couple lost their unborn child in July this year. Nasra shared the devastating news on social media.
