Kenyan musician Sheila Wairimu well known as Shay Diva has been found guilty of stealing her late boyfriend's Land cruiser V8.
Kitale chief magistrate Julius N'garng'ar said Shay Diva transferred ownership of the vehicle under questionable circumstances just a day after her lover's death .
The musician was accused of accessing tycoon PJ Dodhia Kumar’s TIMs/NTSA account and transferring ownership of the vehicle to herself without following due processes of succession.
The 61 year old died in April 2021. His family then moved to court after learning that Shay Diva had taken the vehicle.
NTSA records showed that she had logged into the system on 26th April, the transfer was then authorized the following day with no supporting documents from the owner.
The police then tracked the vehicle to Kitengela where Shay Diva was staying and she was arrested while the vehicle was towed to the police station.
In her defense, she said the transfer was made without her knowledge.
The sentencing will be on 5th December 2022.
