The tweet has however sparked multiple reactions on social media with many claiming that the senator was wrong for using the statement.
''Mnaendea viatu ya 250k majuu na wamasaai wanazurura kila mahali wakiuza viatu ...grow and promote your brothers business ..!!!.find out how that shoe is made ..educate your maasai people with the skill ...promote ...advertise that business here.''
''I wish the manufacturer could invest in a production plant in Kenya, transfer the technology and make Africans part of the supply chain instead of you importing the product ready-made. There is skilled/ unskilled labor and raw materials too.''
''Sawa big boy, but just remember...those your calling "Hustlers" voted you in,not to show them how much your worth mheshimiwa, bt to deliver on what u promised...and also people are starving, such sentiments really lower their trust in u...change man!''
''Because u already wore it, please sell it as mtumba so that we can afford it. we are maasai hustlers who voted for you and proud of it.''
