Kenyan rapper Stevo Simple Boy has received a huge boost after being appointed as an ambassador by the music copyright society of Kenya boss Dr Ezekiel Mutua.
Dr Ezekiel Mutua met up with Stevo Simple Boy, yesterday after word got out that the musician is struggling financially.
The MCSK boss expressed his admiration for Stevo Simple Boy which started back in the days.
"Stevo is a talented young man, I remember I heard of him when I was still at the Kenya Film Classification Board and I started liking him then, in fact, there's a time I even sent my personal assistant, and we were to meet, He is a great guy, so when I learned that he was going through ups and downs, which is normal, you know since Covid a lot of musicians have not found their bearing, so we have met and I have even registered him as a member of MCSK."
Ezekiel Mutua also revealed that he is in the process of getting the rapper an ambassadorial job to help sensitize the youth against substance abuse.
"We have agreed that we pursue an arrangement where he becomes an ambassador for the youth at MCSK, kuendeleza maswala ya muziki, kuturepresent katika mambo ya muziki. I have called NACADA, we have already started arrangements to have a meeting with them, because he has said he wants to start a campaign against substance abuse because as you are aware it's a big menace and a national disaster."
Mutua hopes that through Simple Boy’s success, other young Kenyans will be inspired to pursue their dreams.
