The photo however attracted reactions from fans who were quick to notice Diana's dress. Critics argued that Diana’s black dress was inappropriate for a family photoshoot.

Some fans in the comment section called out Diana for her choice of dress while many claimed it was inappropriate for a mother -son photoshoot.

"Hapa hakuna story ya jealousy....... that dress is inappropriate for a mother, and honestly I really do love you and respect you but that dress is not giving."

"I don't mind her dress code..it's a personal preference but for this particular photo.....epic fail!"

"I mean no disrespect on the post but that ain't a mummy dress you should post with any child. Just saying 😒."

"Diana you’re beautiful period!! You don’t need to be naked to prove it! Not especially when you’re taking pictures with your child a teenage son! Don’t allow this Rihanna and who to corrupt your morals to an extent of losing yourself. Just remember you’re sincerely beautiful without even trying and you’re an amazing mother."

Others have however stated that Diana Marua did nothing wrong wearing the dress and going with the current trend.

Some defended her saying, behaviour in a child is not influenced by how their parents dress up.

"This dress is not see through it's black, when you have a photo shoot with dark clothes with this kind of material and it's hit by a strobe light (flash) it becomes see through,. In natural light it's black af. I'm a photographer I'm used to it."

"LEAVE THE WOMAN ALONE!!! THE FACT THAT WAZUNGU WAKIVAA HIVI ITS NORMAL!! MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS NN MBAYA NA NYINYI SURELY?"

"Hii generation yetu sio ya mababu zetu sawa? We even wear swimming costumes with g strings infront of our 20 year old sons! Your hubbies and brothers were raised with women who covered their bodies but their behaviors are unspeakable! They still CHEAT! Still RAPE small kids. kwendeni huko!"
