Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has finally responded to reports that allege he is in a romantic relationship with Kenyan Tik Toker and radio presenter Azziad Nasenya.
Speaking in an interview, the CS shut down social media critics by saying he has no relationship with Azziad Nasenya whatsoever.
"No. Azziad is not my girlfriend. I actually feel so bad and sorry for the poor girl, You know me I have been in the trenches and when you work in public spaces you grow the skin of a crocodile, covered by Hippo covered by a skin of a Buffalo. People who have not circulated in this space go through it."
CS Ababu said that as a public servant, he was open to public scrutiny and over the years, had developed a thick skin for rumours about his life.
"While it is acceptable to keep public servants under scrutiny, it is also not fair to spread rumours and slander the character of other people. It is not right. Why would you want to want to destroy the reputation of somebody who, in my view, is a real hustler?"
Ababu added that the Ministry of Sports appointed Azziad alongside other talented Kenyans to a technical team because he believed they would add value.
