Trending single mother and daughter popularly known as Koi and her mum chronicles have finally shared their story and the motivation behind their videos which have gone viral on social media platforms.
Speaking in an interview with Mungai Eve, the two explained that they are not mother and daughter however their videos are inspired by real life events and some are from personal experiences.
" we are acting but the videos are from real stories, it is something I have gone through and other people have also gone through. We decided to show people the other world of single mothers which is very common especially in the ghetto."
The daughter who plays the character of Koi said she has been raised by both parents but she has seen other children in the neighborhood act rude towards their mothers and this inspired her character.
The mother in the video said she has heard so many stories from single mothers and so they decided to bring all that into the limelight.
The two however did not know the videos would go viral. Responding to critics, they said people should understand that it is acting and that is not how they behave in real life. They added that they are just highlighting the struggles of single mothers in the slums, and also the need for boundaries between parents and their children.
In the videos, the two hurl insults at each other and the daughter accuses the mother of snatching husbands and engaging in immoral activities.
Koi mentioned that this venture into acting is her first, and it has come with its share of challenges.
