Bon-Eye of popular Kenyan Hip-hop Group P Unit has revealed the reason why they denied Tanzanian bongo star Diamond Platnumz a Collabo at a time when they were quite popular, 8 years ago.

Speaking during the Sol Fest concert, with SPM Buzz, Bon-Eye revealed that Diamond Platnumz approached them for a Collabo in Dar es salaam.

The group however kept the musician waiting in the hotel lobby for 4 hours since they concluded that he had dry lips and his looks did not appeal to them.

"Actually naeza kuambia ukweli tulinyima Diamond collabo kuna time Diamond alitungojea kwa lobby Dar es Sallam, alitungojea kwa lobby for four hours…alikuwa anataka tufanye naye collabo na tukamyima, Gabu alisema alikuwa ameparara lips."

While P-Unit parted ways back in 2015 to pursue solo projects, Diamond has enjoyed a flourishing career and is now among the sought-after acts in Africa.

Bon-Eye's confession led to a heated debate online with some calling them out for wasting a golden opportunity.

Here are some of the comments from social media users:

"Never despise any upcoming talent! Enough Lesson."

"Kenya watu wako na talent lakini kiburi my goodness 😂😂anyho who's laughing now malipo ni hapa hapa tu."

"No wonder Kenyan music lacks longevity. Maringo ya umaskini. 😂😂 Look at Diamond now."

"Ndio hii sasa tunafunzwa tukiona .... Maringo na madharau ndogo ndogo hujui ya kesho 😢 hizo lips zimeparara leo zinaparara kwa private jet."

"No wonder @diamondplatnumz doesn't do more collabos with Kenya artists😏kumbe mlimdharau."

The group consisted of Frasha, Bon-Eye and Gabu.
