Kenyan entertainer DJ Slahver has opened up a day after his girlfriend, Kenyan gospel singer Nicah the Queen revealed they had decided to go separate ways.
During an interview with Ankali Ray, the DJ clarified that the split wasn't caused by malicious intent but rather by challenges that had accumulated over time.
The DJ disclosed that financial challenges were a significant factor in their recent breakup.
DJ Slahver shared that he was conned and as a result he went broke to a point of resigning from his job.
"Last year there was an event I was organizing where I was to bring Chris Brown, that’s when the problems began. I was conned. I had partnered with two men, one of whom was living in Dubai but unfortunately, I was scammed. I never went public about it. It affected me to the point I resigned. I became broke, and I can say mostly the issues that may have led to our break up is finances."
Ankali further wanted to know if Nicah wasn’t patient enough about his situation. The DJ however said that had stood with him and he can’t speak ill of her. He further dispelled any claims of cheating between them.
"Amevumilia, amenishikilia, siwezimuongelea vibaya but maybe after nimesharudi, nimerudisha vitu zangu poa maybe we can reconsider that. In the meantime saa hizi mimi niko kwa kiwanja saa hizi focus yangu sana ni hustle."
A day ago, Nicah The Queen took to her Instagram to announce her break up with DJ Slahver, with whom she has been in an on-and-off relationship.
Through her Instagram stories, Nicah shared the news vaguely noting that they had both decided to go their separate ways after careful consideration.
"After so much consideration, @slahverdon and I have decided to go our separate ways. Thank you so much for the love you all accorded us!"
This breakup follows a pattern, as the couple had also gone public about their split in April 2022, citing the complexities of love.
