Tanzanian Producer Master J has shared his thoughts when it comes to comparison between Tanzanian and Kenyan artists.
In a recent interview with East Africa radio, Master J said Kenyan artists are more talented compared to Tanzanian artists; however, they lack the knowledge and skills to effectively establish their personal brand.
He threw shade at Kenyan artists for their lack of commitment in pushing their brands especially with how they dress up.
“Wasanii wetu wanajua kujibrand na kufanya marketing kwenye social media kuliko Wakenya, wale bado washamba washamba hata wanavyovaa. Biashara ya muziki lazima uitumie social media."
The producer went ahead to explain the difference between singers and entertainers. According to him, Kenya has best singers but Tanzania has the best entertainers.
He shared that whenever Tanzanian artists visit Kenya, they attract alot of fans and fill stages that Kenyan artists fail to fill. at the end of it all, they go home with alot of money even though they are not good at speaking English.
"Kiitu ninachojivunia ni kwamba waburudishaji bora wa Africa Mashariki wanatoka Tanzania, Wakenya wamebaki na kitu kimoja wanajua Kiingereza na wanatuzidi kuimba kuliko sisi, wana waimbaji bora sana”.
While at it, Master J said Alikiba for example is the best singer in Tanzania but Diamond Platnumz is a better entertainer.
Without mincing his words, he said artists should put more efforts since the music industry is an entertainment business not a singing business.
