Ugandan socialite has paid tribute to her late husband Ivan Semwanga who passed away in 2017.

Ivan was pronounced dead at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria, South Africa where he had been receiving medical treatment having suffered a heart attack.

On social media, Zari, who shares three children with Ivan noted that she can never get over him and will always love him.

"7 years seems like yesterday. May Allah continue testing you in peace. We will always love you."

In December last year, the Ugandan socialite and entrepreneur, visited the grave of her late husband, Ivan Ssemwanga, during her Christmas vacation in Uganda.

Before his untimely death, Ivan owned several mansions in Uganda and two luxurious residences in Sandton and Pretoria, South Africa.


Zari, commemorating what would have been Ivan’s birthday on December 13, took to Instagram to express her heartfelt wishes.

In her message, she wrote, “Happy birthday, hope the angels are celebrating with him. The legacy lives on. Happy birthday.”

Although Ivan  had separated with Zari who went on to marry Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz, she was at his bedside when he was hospitalised, and was at the forefront during his burial.

Zari Hassan is currently married to Shakib Lutaaya.
