Viral super metro conductor Gerald Mwangi Alias Makanga Bae was laid to rest in Muthure, Wangige, Kiambu county on Wednesday 23rd October.
The emotional ceremony was attended by family members, friends and colleagues who worked with him at super metro.
Makanga Bae succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
His death came after Super Metro Sacco made an urgent appeal for blood donations on Thursday, October 10, 2024, to help save his life.
Although the specifics of the accident are yet to be fully clarified, it has been reported that Makanga Bae was fatally injured when he was ejected from the moving vehicle.
Despite receiving medical care and undergoing surgery, his condition worsened and one of his legs was amputated.
On Friday, October 11, the Super Metro matatu sacco issued a statement mourning the loss of Gerald Njoroge Mwangi.
In their tribute, the sacco reflected on the impact Mwas had on his family, friends, and colleagues.
He was celebrated for his professionalism and charm in an industry often criticised for its chaotic nature and over time, he earned respect not only from passengers but also from within the matatu industry itself.
