A man from Uganda was arrested in Naivasha after he confessed to a driver that he had fatally stabbed his wife. This event took place when he stopped a motorist on the Gilgil-Naivasha road around 10 pm on Monday, requesting a ride to Nairobi.
During their chat, he disclosed to the driver that he killed his wife following a domestic dispute over her decision to cook omena instead of meat for dinner. He also stated that he was trying to avoid being caught after committing the crime.
The driver decided to take him to the Naivasha police station, where he was handed over to law enforcement. The police have launched an investigation and are preparing to send him back to Uganda.
Authorities have confirmed they are coordinating with Ugandan officials to facilitate the suspect’s transfer for legal proceedings. The motives behind his confession are still unclear, and police are continuing their inquiries.
According to the police report, the suspect attacked and killed his wife on March 14, 2025, in Bukitongo B village, Namisindwa District, before fleeing to Kenya.
