Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has shared that he is facing challenges that are delaying his progress to fly baby Sagini to China for eye implants.

Sharing on social media, Sonko said some people think he is using the case for PR and political gains and at this point he has been denied access to the three year old baby Sagini and his sister Shantel.

The former governor has also revealed that the young boy has already missed two appointments with an eye doctor in Westlands.

"Merry Christmas to Baby Sagini and his 7yrs old sis Shantel. Despite my efforts to help I have not had access to them due to bad politics being played around by some dirty minded politicians who think I'm in this case for PR and political mileage purposes but that won't stop me from pursuing the matter I'm sending their small Christmas gifts through a good Samaritan who is also helping on the ground Esnahs Nyaramba. Last week Baby Sagini missed two important appointments with Dr. Kishor at the Westlands laser eye hospital coz we wanted the baby's review report to be emailed to China so that we can start the process of flying him there for implant of artificial eyes."

The hospital In China had recommended for baby Sagini to have two reports from an eye hospital in Kenya before going to China for the implants.

Mike Sonko has however promised that he will do his best to make sure baby Sagini travels to China like he had promised.

"Politicising the issue and denying me access to him and his sister will not stop me from helping."

Baby Sagini was kidnapped a while ago and his eyes were gouged out. The suspects are already in police custody.
