There was drama at Itakaibolu Village in Kaliro District Uganda when a man showed up at what was supposed to be his burial.

Asadi Ndekeire arrived at a burial where mourners had gathered to give him a send-off. He and his drunk friends arrived at the funeral ceremony late and sat on the seats behind the tent.

When the coffin had been lowered into the grave, Ndekeire with his friends staggered to the graveside to also send off the deceased by pouring soil into the grave.

"He was a good man who made everyone laugh outside,But inside the home, he was a weak man who was always crying like a baby because his fat wife pounded him like traditional cassava," Ndekeire said in his farewell speech as reported by Daily Monitor.

Villagers identified the voice which was quite familiar. Everyone turned to confirm whose it was.

Women started screaming as everybody ran for their dear lives. Ndekeire also sobered up and took off. It took the efforts of several village men to chase him and bring him back to the village.

Family revealed that Ndekeire had been missing for several days. One day  a sugarcane truck hit and killed a man on the spot near a village bar where Ndekeire was a regular patron. His face was totally crushed and when relatives saw a grey sweater at the mortuary, they concluded it was him.

Ndekeire said he had been abducted by some people he owed money.

The mourners had to confront the hard question: whose remains was that they had already interred into the grave?
