Reknowned media personality Shaffie Weru has landed a new job as the Head of Events and Branding at Nairobi County under the administration of Governor Johnson Sakaja.
His roles involves overseeing all governors’ indoor and outdoor events, ensuring they look, feel, and sound amazing.
In a recent interview with Nairobi News, Shaffie shared some of the most memorable events he has planned in the past, including the Nairobi Festival and Wanyama Roya Cup. He plans to bring the same level of excitement, energy, and magic to his new role at the Governor’s Office.
"It’s not about my vision but the vision of my governor as it is enshrined in his manifesto that includes a City of Dignity and making Nairobi work."
Shaffie is determined to achieve the Governor’s dream of a city of order and dignity.
Shaffie was fired from the Radio Africa-owned station Homeboyz radio in 2021 alongside radio presenter Neville and DJ Joe Mfalme for remarks regarded as inappropriate by many of their listeners.
Shaffie and his colleagues were on the spot after they victim-shamed a lady who was thrown off the 12th floor of Ambank House by a man she met on Facebook.
In January this year, he made a media comeback with new show 'shafted' Weru stated that he didn’t blame anyone for his sacking, and further admitted to facing depression but luckily he had great friends who stood by his side.
Congratulations Shaffie.
