Police are investigating the mysterious death of Margaret Mbitu, a US based Kenyan woman whose body was found in a Boston airport parking garage.

The body of the missing 31 year old Maggie was found murdered in a car at a Boston airport parking garage as police say the suspected killer fled to Kenya.

Kevin Kangethe, 40, is currently a prime suspect in the killing. Police said the suspect and victim were partners, but offered few other details including a possible motive in the homicide. An arrest Warrant has been placed on his head.

He is believed to have taken the 16-hour flight from the United States to Kenya immediately after committing the heinous act in a bid to escape the law.

Mbitu was leaving Halifax workplace in her white Toyota Venza the last time she was seen alive.

Mbitu worked as a nurse and was described as the kind of person who would 'pick up Christmas shifts so others could spend time with their families'.

Her coworkers posted a flyer online labelling Mbitu as a 'missing' person after they didn't hear from her.

'Maggie was last seen at 11pm on Monday October 30 in Halifax leacing work,' the flyer read. 'She was wearing black pants with a gray shirt and black cardigan. Her straight black hair was in a ponytail and she was driving a white Toyota Venza.'

Police are continuing to investigate this mysterious death and trying to establish a timeline using surveillance footage to understand what happened to Mbitu after she left work on Monday.

Condolences to the family and may her soul rest in peace.
