Former KTN news anchor Michael Oyier is dead. The media personality died while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital.

According to report provided by a close friend, Oyier had collapsed in his Lavington house in Nairobi on Wednesday April 17, after complaining of a severe headache.

There is however no clear detail of the exact illness the deceased was suffering from before his sudden demise, and a postmortem will be conducted to establish the cause of death.

Michael Oyier developed a passion for journalism from a young age. He began his career in journalism by contributing to local newspapers and radio stations, honing his skills in investigative reporting and feature writing.

In 2002, Oyier joined Standard Group Media as a news anchor at KTN where he worked for nine years until 2012.

With over 20 years of experience as a journalist, Oyier was a skilled public speaker, moderator, master of ceremony, facilitator, voice-over artist, singer and actor.

After leaving KTN, he transitioned into providing counseling services and evolved into an executive leadership coach until his passing.
